Chakra and patterns

I got this challenge: sacral chakra, patterns: moonrose, beautyfly and waterflow(to be found under pattern focus,Pattern-collections.com). Thank you Chel.I asked myself oh… what should i do with those patterns? Then i tought about something i saw online lately: “What if i use a resist to draw the chakra template. What resist? acrylic paint or wax crayons or maybe the oil crayons that i never use. that is what i did. I have drawn the chakra with white oilcrayon , then paint background with watercolours and then draw the patterns moonrose, beautyfly and waterflow. I can tell you it was fun to make and i am quit pleased with the result.it just turned out a bit too pink. But that is not a bad thing, isn’t it?

Een eerste poging om te tanglen met gebruik van de art-raffle app van Eni Oken.

het was leuk tekenen, ook al was het op copypapier tijdens het oppassen van onze zieke kleindochter. Het gaat gelukkig al weer beter met haar.

My first attempt to draw with the use of the artraffle app. See link above. I don’t gain anything by mentioning the app here . It is a fun app and she must have put a lot of effort in Building it So she deserves at least a reference to the app.

It was fun even as i had to draw on copypaper while watching our sick granddauther. She is ok again now.

nota voor mezelf.Hou het simpel want met te veel patroontjes wordt het gauw overweldigend.

Note to myself: Keep it simple because it is overwhelming if one uses to many patterns.

patroontje: poef

Stormy weather is always good for some extra drawing time. I saw this footrest in a magasine and felt a tickle to make this into a pattern. It could be used as a single pattern, a ribbon or in the round as a flower. I hope you like it. in our region we call such a footrest a poef (poof) hence the name.

Stormweer is altijd goed voor wat extra tekentijd. Ik zag dit voetbankje in een tijdschrift en zag er een patroontje in. In ons dialect noemen we zo’n bankje een poef. Vandaar de naam. het kan gebruikt worden als een enkel patroon, een lint of een bloemvorm. IK hoop dat jullie het leuk vinden.

A little story

I made this challenge on a brown envelope from a card my granddaugther Lieze gave me. It has a sticker on it that says:” for the sweetest grandma on earth”. And the card had a picture of an old lady who is painting. Oh my heart , it jumped from joy. There is no greater love then the love for and from our grandchildren, isn’t it?

I am pleased with the outcome of the drawing. Seems that drawing in a sketchbook is very relaxing. It was ment as a try-out and that took expectations away and in the end it turned out very well.

A trio for mojo #107

It is not so easy to work with ribbon patterns. What could i do with this? First i thought to use the ribbons in a holibaugh way and a heart in the middle to fit the love -theme.

In the end i found this way to crowded and chaotic. So i started over and tried a new setting.

That was certainly more airy but rather unbalanced and the feather-triangle-ribbon was not quit that. As all good thing come in threefold i took my chance and made a third drawing.

And that’s it. I kind of love this one with the heart in the middle. And a bit more contrast in the rangoli-hearts.

this was a lovely template to fill with new found patterns and some older smaller gridpatterns.

A background and some patterns

 I like the backgrounds that Janelle has provided. I chose one and saved it to my laptop. The idee was to draw the patterns(OnS, sawed,anchored) and then merge it with the background. Don’t ask me how i did it . But after some trials it gave me this result.

Ik hou wel van de achtergronden die Janelle ons gaf. Ik koos er een en bewaarde die op mijn laptop. Het idee was een tekening te maken en de achtergrond er digital aan toe te voegen. Vraag me niet hoe ik het deed.Maar het lukte na een tijd.

I was not very satisfied with the result as some colour got lost by merging the white background of the drawing.
Then i made a print of my chosen background and made the drawing by hand.Here i did some shading with pastel ecoline brushpens. I like this outcome  most. 

Ik was niet helemaal tevreden met het resultaat. Het witte van het papier neemt veel kleur weg van de achtergrond.

Ik heb de achtergrond dan geprint en er met de hand op getekend. Het schaduwen gebeurde met ecoline brushpen in pastel kleuren.

Herstbladeren/ autumn leafs

De opdracht voor deze week omvatte een template met bladeren en enkele patronen.

Ladder ( https://tanglepatterns.com/2020/10/how-to-draw-ladder.html was echter een vierkant. Hmm hoe moest ik dat laten samen gaan met herstbladeren. Ik moest dus weer wat brainstormen in mijn schetsboek.En ik vond een oplossing: het blad verdelen in stukken met rechte hoeken en één vierde van het patroon gebruiken.

Because all turned to purple i had to work on the theme of my blog.

The new colours are not quit what i like but i’ll leave it for a while . I have no time at this moment to find out how i must set it like i like it right now.

Een kleine vakantie impressie

Een klein waterverfschilderijtje van de bloemen op onze kampeerplek.

Helaas zal deze 4 daagse trip wellicht de enige vakantie zijn door het opnieuw toenemen van de corona-epidemie.

Because i am always playing chatch up , i decided to do 2 in one . So this is my submission for mojo’s 76 and 77. I did draw them on A4 paper so that i had more room for the different patterns. I took half circles for this one. I had some difficulties with the black and white balance and kept adding black here and there. Somehow i have the impression that i overdo my drawings lately.

Ik deed deze keer 2 in één omdat ik een kleine inhaalbeweging wilde doen. Ik maakte de tekening op A4 tekenpapier zodat ik meer ruimte had voor de verschillende patronen. En halve cirkels zijn ook rond, toch? Om een betere zwartwit balance te bekomen heb ik hier endaar wat zwart toegevoegd. De schaduw is aangebracht met een B grafietpotlood. Ergens heb ik de indruk dat ik mijn tekeningen iets overdoe de laatse tijd.
