Royal wedding

Seems like the whole world was focussed on the royal wedding in the UK. Even the weekly challenge is about it.

Weekly Challenge #20: “Royal Wedding”

I must confess i have seen it too.My first thought when seeing the inside of the cathedral was:” look it is full of tangles”.

Here are a few clips i used as my inspiration. It really was like a inspiration overdose , I hardly knew what to choose first.

I was immediately obsessed by the pavement; I did some research and found it is a “Cosmati pavement” .It is so beautiful and my tangle is only a poor impression of the pavement. I had no intention to really copy it.

So here it is, my tangle  inspired by the royal wedding: You can just see the last glimpse of the wedding dress on the cosmati pavement under the Gothic bows with stained  glass windows.

oh my, I really wished i had a more steady hand . But i see progress, before discovering Zentangle i couldn’t have made a drawing like this.

LOL oh yes those ancient cathedrals are a treasure of inspiration for all sorts of art. Just think they were built between 900 and 700 years or so ago.

Love your take on the floor. XOXO Zoe

No..don’t be hard on yourself! I like your pattern. I am off to have a look at the mosaics too. Mosaics are fascinating. We all seem to be loving this challenge, as we can really be creative with this.In fact you could use this theme for many months!
